Supplemental Educational Services (SES)

We are proud this year to launch the Supplemental Education Services (SES) program, in partnership with the Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center. The program helps recent-arrival students from diverse countries increase their skills in math and English, while understanding and appreciating theirs and each others’ cultures. Students engage in 1 hour of math, 1 hour of English, a short lunch, and 30 minutes of teambuilding and cultural enrichment using vocabulary learned during the day. Instructors include Instructional Assistants, VFA staff, and volunteers.

The program takes place every Saturday morning from 9:45am to 12:45pm at the SBOC. The program has closed for the year and will open again in September. Please contact James at james.lovell at vfaseattle.or or (206) 760-1573 for further information or if you would like to volunteer.
