Students learn calligraphy
The EASE after school program, which started in 2006, is one of VFA’s most successful programs. Students between ages 7 and 20 attend the program to receive academic assistance from trained and background checked tutors. Through VFA’s collaborations with our partners such as Jet City Improv, P-Patch, UW’s Teacher’s Education Program, Campfire USA, and Harborview Hospital, students also have the opportunity to enrich their environmental, cultural, health and leadership competencies, thus building interpersonal relationships with their peers and community.
Many of the students we serve are from our partner school, the Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center. Enrollment typically begins in October, but students are welcome throughout the year. EASE also welcomes students who need to fulfill service learning or volunteer requirements. Please contact program coordinators for additional information.
