VFA’s Tet Celebration 2010

VFA’s Tet Celebration on Thursday, February 11th at New Holly Gathering Hall in Seattle celebrated the lunar new year with almost 180 community members and 20 volunteers. There were games, crafts, and tons of delicious food!

The large turnout wasn’t just comprised of families from VFA programs; many families and community members from the New Holly area attended as well to learn more about Tet and to celebrate with VFA. Volunteers came from a variety of places, including Seattle University’s Nursing program, VFA’s EASE after school tutors, VFA’s Service Corps, Campfire USA, as well as various community members.

Additionally, members of ResCare (www.rescare.com) were there to run a bowling booth for the youth and to let families know about their services. The Census team also joined in on the fun with a fishing booth where participants “fished” for candy.

Many thanks to all of those who attended and helped out, especially to ResCare and the Census for their financial support! We couldn’t have done it without you! Hope to celebrate again with you next year!

Here are some pictures from the event:

Almost 180 people came to celebrate Tet (the Vietnamese Lunar New Year) with VFA.

One of the activities included fans for kids to decorate.

More pictures will be added soon! Thank you again for all those that attended!
