After several months of planning, VFA opens Summer Youth Program 2009 at South Seattle Community College’s New Holly Learning Center. Over 80 of students ranging from pre-K to grade 12 showed up on the first day. It’s been a week, and they’re still there! (We expect additional enrolled kids to show up, since some of them are still on vacation with their families). We’re very excited, as it is a full schedule of academics, leadership, cultural enrichment, field trips, and recreational fun. New elements include a newsletter, and financial literacy workshops for older youth (in partnership with Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants–WSCPA).
